- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 8 oz sliced cremini mushrooms
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 cup dry Marsala wine
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
Instructions
- Season chicken with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown chicken on both sides until golden; transfer to slow cooker.
- In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms and garlic until browned and tender, then add to the slow cooker.
- Pour Marsala wine and chicken broth over the chicken and mushrooms.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
- Stir in butter during the last 30 minutes of cooking to emulsify the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.
