Description

Tender chicken and savory mushrooms simmered in a rich Marsala wine sauce. This easy slow cooker recipe brings restaurant flavors to your home kitchen with minimal effort.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 cup dry Marsala wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown chicken on both sides until golden; transfer to slow cooker.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms and garlic until browned and tender, then add to the slow cooker.
  4. Pour Marsala wine and chicken broth over the chicken and mushrooms.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  6. Stir in butter during the last 30 minutes of cooking to emulsify the sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.
