- 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced small
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to an even thickness.
- Cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter or knife.
- Create a small indentation in the center of each heart.
- Mix diced strawberries with sugar and cornstarch in a small bowl.
- Spoon a small amount of the strawberry mixture into the center of each heart.
- Brush the outer edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
