Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles.
  4. Create a border by cutting smaller squares from each corner without cutting all the way through.
  5. In a bowl, mash together strawberries and sugar; mix in cream cheese if desired.
  6. Place the strawberry mixture in the center of each pastry square, fold up edges, and brush with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
